They are happy to consider out-of-the-box ideas and new ways of combining two spaces into one.
FUNCTION OF SPACE
This will be a space to come as a group or individual to learn, play or build community. There will be a library element and a more open community space. Functionally it needs to cater to hosting a large range of people who can occupy themselves in various ways without disturbing those around them.

Influenced by Innisfail’s local landscapes and Art Deco history, Edith Street Library is driven by a strong conceptual throughline: an immersive spatial narrative that choreographs movement through a series of crafted moments of discovery. The atmosphere is moody but inviting, with tonal layering that creates warmth and depth and a calibrated, controlled sense of theatre.

Biophilic landscaping is set against bold statement finishes—contrasting textures that reinforce brand identity through material and light, with bespoke detailing throughout. Designed for self-regulated productivity and wellbeing, the centre offers integrated technology alongside nap pods (passive rest), a sand-pit silent-film cinema (active rest), work pods for collaboration, and intimate seating for meetings or quiet study.
